A Day on the Plains - The Land That Called Life

Series: A Walk in Serengeti — adapted from my Korean-language e-Book published in South Korea.

The sun was setting over the Serengeti.

A deep red light slowly slipped beneath the horizon,
and the long shadows of the plains stretched quietly across the grass.

The wind moved softly, like the last breath of the day.

I put down my camera and simply sat there.

Whenever this hour arrived,
my heart always became calm.

The silent rhythm of nature seemed to flow gently inward.

Memories of One Hundred Days

The memories of my hundred days in the Serengeti
passed quietly through my mind.

The burning midday sun.
Sudden rains across the plains.
Nights when the sky overflowed with stars.

And the many eyes of life I encountered there.

Each moment — big or small —
had slowly shaped this quiet evening.

Lessons from the Plains

Those hundred days were not simply time spent in a place.

They were a lesson.

On these plains, I learned that gentleness often holds more strength than power.

That coexistence can be stronger than competition.

Every creature knew its place.
Each lived at its own pace.

Watching them, I began to understand:

Life is not conquest.
It is harmony.

Growth is not possession.
It is sharing.

And one quiet thought remained with me.

One day, I would walk this path again.

A Prayer for the Land of Life

Night slowly returned to the Serengeti.

Stars filled the sky.
The wind crossed the plains once more.

And I prayed quietly.

“Let me never forget what I learned on this road.
Let me meet again the faces of life I saw here.
And one day, call me back into this wind.”

The day in the Serengeti had ended.

But the call of this land
continued to echo within me.

“All your works shall give thanks to you, O Lord,
and your saints shall bless you.”
— Psalm 145:10

The End of Volume 1

This post marks the final story from my eBook
“A Walk in Serengeti – Volume 1: A Day on the Plains.”

Over these posts, we have walked together through the quiet rhythms of the savannah.

Thank you for being part of this journey.

But the story is not finished.

I am now preparing Volume 2, where new encounters and deeper reflections from the Serengeti will continue.
